# Troubleshooting

> Fixes for the things that most often go wrong in the beta.

<AccordionGroup>
<Accordion title="There's no Alien tab in Grasshopper">
* Check that `Alien.gha` is in Grasshopper's Libraries folder (in Grasshopper: **File › Special Folders › Components Folder**).
* **Windows:** check that Rhino runs on .NET Core: type `SetDotNetRuntime` in Rhino. If you installed by hand, check that the zip was unblocked before you extracted it.
* Restart Rhino fully after installing.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="The installer says Rhino is running">
Quit Rhino fully. On macOS use **Cmd+Q**, and check the Dock.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="macOS or Windows won't open the installer">
The installers aren't signed yet, so each warns you once. **macOS:** **System Settings › Privacy & Security › Open Anyway**. **Windows:** **More info › Run anyway**. See [Installation](/installation).
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="The panel doesn't appear">
Add `"panel": "rhino"` to your [settings file](/reference/settings) to dock it inside Rhino instead, then open it with **PANEL** on a component.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title=""No OpenRouter key", 401, or "insufficient credits"">
Open the panel's Help (**?**): link a key, check your credit, or make a new key.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="A component shows an error">
The error is printed on the component itself. Describe a fix in the panel ("it errors when the curve is open") and Alien sends the error to the model with your request. Or open **Earlier versions** and **Restore** one that worked.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="The site map fails">
It needs the internet and works for Victorian addresses only. Type the street number and suburb: an address that only matches a street or suburb is refused rather than mapping the wrong lot. Vicmap's services sometimes change; when they do, the component falls back to a second source and says so in its `info` output.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Port 9876 is in use">
Set `"port"` in your [settings file](/reference/settings) to another number and restart Rhino. Point your agent at the new port.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="An AI component didn't do anything">
AI components only call a model when you press **Generate**. Until then they show what would be built, or the last design from the cache.
</Accordion>

## Still stuck?

Reply to your beta email with what you did and what you saw. A screenshot of the component and the panel helps.
